Operations bids submitted for Tel Aviv LRT Red Line, Israel [free access]

Three consortia have submitted bids to operate the light-rail transit (LRT) Red Line in Tel Aviv for a period of 10 years. The contract includes an option for an additional term of six years. Consortium 1 comprises Egged Israel Transport Co-operative Society Limited, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and Shenzhen Metro; Consortium 2 comprises Dan Bus and Beijing Metro and Consortium 3 comprises Derech Eretz Highways and Guangzhou Metro.


The scope of work includes training and hiring of drivers and ticket takers as well as management of maintenance contractors for the carriages, railway systems and infrastructure.
