On December 13, 2016, Thailand’s Ministry of Transport announced its Transport Infrastructure Investment Action Plan for 2017. As per the plan, the government aims to invest around USD50.57 billion in 43 transport infrastructure projects, which include double track rail network, commuter trains, mass transit development, high-speed trains, motorways and expressways, road facilitation, public bus procurement, maritime transport and air transport. Of the 43 projects, seven projects are continued from the action plan of 2016.
The total investment planned for mass transit projects is around USD10 billion, for high-speed rail USD20 billion and for bus procurements USD64.9 million.
The following table lists the projects under Thailand’s Transport Action Plan Year 2016 and 2017.
