Ukraine: Annual ridership trend by mode in Kiev during 1998-2017 [free access]

During 2017, annual ridership across the three public transport modes in Kiev – tram, trolley bus and metro – was 785.1 million passengers. Separately, tram, trolley bus and metro recorded annual ridership of 118.65 million, 167.97 million and 498.46 million passengers, respectively. In the last two decades, the share of metro has increased from 47.1 per cent to 63.5 per cent, while the share of tram declined from 24.6 per cent to 15.1 per cent and that of trolley bus fell from 28.3 per cent to 21.4 per cent. The following table provides the annual ridership trend over the last 20 years across the three modes of public transport.
