MAN to supply up to 1,000 buses to DB Regio Bus, Germany [free access]

DB Regio Bus, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn (DB), has signed a framework agreement with MAN Truck & Bus (MAN) to procure up to 1,000 city and intercity buses at an estimated investment of EUR250 million. The company will also provide optional service contracts and spare parts supply. The delivery of buses is scheduled between 2019 and 2020, with an option to extend the contract by two years.

 

The buses will be deployed by 31 German regional bus companies and operated by DB Regio Bus. As per the contract, the city buses will include solo and articulated buses in different vehicle lengths (from 12 metres to 18.75 metres). The buses will be low-floored and disabled-friendly, and be equipped with Euro 6 engines of 280 to 360 hp (206-265 kW).

 

The high-floored intercity buses will be 12.2 metres, 13 metres and 13.2 metres long, and be equipped with D08 engines of 250 or 290 hp (184 or 213 kW).
