Pune to invest in public transport as per L&T plan, India [free access]

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and India-based Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Infrastructure Engineering have developed a long-term and comprehensive mobility plan (CMP), which involves investment of INR546.01 billion by 2038 in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

 

Major proposals in the CMP include development of 125 km of metro lines, 70 km of light rail transit (LRT) lines, 210 km of bus rapid transit (BRT) system, high capacity mass transit routes (HCMTR),  18 multi-modal hubs and five inter-state bus terminals (ISBT) by 2038.
