China inaugurates 14 urban rail lines [free access]

Passenger services have commenced on 14 urban rail lines in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Qingdao, and Wuhan, which collectively span over 300 km.

 

These include Line 8 Phase 3 (12.6 km), Line 8 Phase 4 (3.4 km) and Line 6 extension (10.3 km) of Beijing Subway; Line 5 extension(16.1 km) and Line 13 (16.3 km) of Shanghai Metro; Line 14 Phase I (54.4 km) and Line 21 section 1 (26.2 km) of Guangzhou Metro; a section of Guangfo Metro (5.5 km); Line 4 Phase 1 (15.6 km) and Northeast Half Ring line (33.7 km) of Chongqing Rail Transit; Line 3 (29.5 km) of Chengdu Metro; Chengdu LRT (13.5 km); Line 13 (70 km) of Qingdao Metro; and Line 7 extension (16.9 km) of Wuhan Metro.
