Turkey allocates funds for metro system in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir [free access]

Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has allocated TRY4.32 billion under the 2019 Investment Program for the development of metro systems in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir. Of the total funds, TRY3.26 billion will be allocated to Istanbul Metro, TRY1.06 billion to Ankara Metro, and TRY30,000 billion to Izmir Metro.

 

Of the TRY3.26 billion allocated for Istanbul Metro, around TRY2.78 billion will be allocated for the development of Line M11 (Gayrettepe–New Airport Metro Line), TRY460 million for the development of the Halkalı–Istanbul Airport line, and TRY41 million for consultancy services.

 

Line M11 (Gayrettepe–New Airport Metro Line) will span 36 km and cover 10 stations. A JV of Turkey-based Şenbay İnşaat and Kolin İnşaat is constructing the line under a EUR999.77 million contract secured in December 2016.
