Contactless bank cards deployed on Dreux’s public transport system, France [free access]

April 30, 2019

The Agglomeration of the Country of Dreux and Keolis, in partnership with Mastercard, Actoll, and Crédit Industriel et Commercial (CIC), has deployed the contactless bank card for fare payment on the public transport system in Dreux, branded as the Linéad network.

The public transport system, which comprises only buses, accepts payments from Mastercard- or Visa-branded bank cards. Actoll provided its T-Smart ticketing solution, which is developed under the partnership of Urban System and Actoll. CIC is the acquirer for bank card payments.

In 2018, Keolis deployed contactless bank cards for fare payment on the public transport system of Dijon, which was the first full-scale deployment of contactless bank cards for transport in France.
