Denver RTD inaugurates Southeast Rail Extension, US [free access]

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) of Denver has inaugurated the 3.7-km (2.3-mile) Southeast Rail Extension of the E, F, and R lines of its light rail transit (LRT) system. The project was implemented by Balfour Beatty, with construction work commencing in 2016.


The extension expands light rail service southeast from Lincoln Station, with three new stations. The project is part of the RTD’s FasTracks programme to expand the commuter rail and light rail networks by 196.3 km. The total cost of the project was USD233.1 million.
