Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication (MTT) has shortlisted three requests for proposals (RfPs) to provide transaction advisory services for the Bahrain Metro Rail project. The shortlisted bidders are Al Zayani Engineering, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The scope of work includes provision of financial, technical, and legal consultancy services to prepare tender documents for the design, construction, and operation of Phase 1. Phase 1 will be developed at an estimated investment between USD1 billion and USD2 billion. It will be funded by MOTT and the private concessionaire. It will comprise two lines, which will collectively span 29 km and cover 20 stations. Passenger services are expected to commence by 2030.
