August 2, 2019

Spain-based CAF and its subsidiary, Solaris Bus & Coach (Solaris), have secured two separate contracts from the Italian authorities to supply metro trains and buses.

CAF has secured a EUR60million contract to supply an additional seven CAF Inneo metro trains for Naples Metro. The order is a part of a contract signed in November 2017 to supply 10 six-car trainsets for Naples Metro Line 1, which included an option for 10 additional trainsets.

The new trains will be delivered to Azienda Napoletana Mobilità SpA (ANM), the urban public transport provider in the city of Naples. The delivery of the first 10 trains is expected to be completed by 2019.

In addition, Solaris has secured a EUR117 million contract from Cotral SpA, the suburban and inter-urban bus services provider in the Lazio region, to supply 300 InterUrbino intercity buses and to provide maintenance services for a 10-year period. The first 50 buses will be delivered by the end of 2019.

The buses will be deployed on routes connecting the province of Rome and the entire region of Lazio.
