Sao Paulo launches contactless bank card pilot, Brazil [free access]

The City of São Paulo has launched a three-month-long pilot project to allow passengers to pay fares on 200 buses, operating on 12 lines, using Visa or Mastercard contactless bank cards via the approach payment technology (NFC). Passengers will also be able to use their digital wallets on smart phones or smart watches or any other device that has proximity payment technology for fare payment.
