KfW to finance procurement of clean buses in Tamil Nadu, India [free access]

Germany-based development bank, KfW has signed an EUR203 million (INR15.80 billion) agreement with the state government of Tamil Nadu for buying 2,123 buses equipped with Bharat Stage VI (BS-VI) emission standard engines and 500 electric buses. Most of these buses are planned to be deployed in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. The funds will also be used for developing charging stations for electric vehicles, passenger information and cashless ticketing system.
