Masabi and Jorudan launch mobile ticketing for Oita Bus, Japan [free access]

October 7, 2019

United Kingdom-based Masabi, in collaboration with Japan-based Jorudan, has launched a mobile ticketing option in two a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) applications (apps) for Oita Bus, a bus operator in multiple cities in Japan. Passengers can now purchase day passes for bus travel via the Japan Transit Planner and the Norikae Annai apps.

The launch of the app is a part of an agreement signed by the companies in January 2019. Jorudan has integrated Masabi’s Justride mobile ticketing software development kit (SDK), including the Justride Inspect ticket validation system, into its app. Jorudan also uses the Justride External Orders application programming interface (API) to deliver tickets purchased via its transit planning and transit route search websites to a passenger’s smartphone.
