Signalling and communication systems contract awarded for Taoyuan MRT Airport Line, Taiwan [free access]

A consortium of Germany-based Siemens Mobility, Singapore-based ST Engineering, and Taiwan-based BES Engineering Corporation has secured a contract to supply signalling and communication systems for the upcoming stations at Terminal 3 of the Taoyuan Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System Airport Line. Siemens Mobility will supply the signalling system, including the communications-based train control (CBTC) system; ST Engineering will supply smart rail electronics solutions, including the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, platform screen doors, and maintenance management systems; and BES Engineering Corporation will supply the power supply system.


Currently, two new stations of the Taoyuan MRT Airport Line are being developed at the upcoming Terminal 3. Passenger services on the stations are scheduled to commence in September 2022 and June 2024 respectively.
