Kyiv City Council allocates UAH83.4 billion for transport infrastructure development, Ukraine [free access]

The Kyiv City Council has approved the UAH 83.4 billion City Target Program for the development of Kyiv’s transport infrastructure during the period 2019–2023. The objective is to develop sustainable urban mobility, along with prioritising pedestrians, cyclists and public transport, in the planning and construction of transport infrastructure.

 

The programme will be financed by the city (UAH76.1 billion), the state budget, and individual sources. The scope of work includes overhaul of roads, provision of increasing comfort of public transport, as well as procurement of more than 400 trams, trolleybuses, and electric buses.
