Sri Lanka Transport Board to procure 2,500 buses; 500 buses to be imported from India [free access]

The Sri Lanka Transport Board, a public transport authority, has announced plans to procure 2,500 buses by end-2020. Of these, 500 buses are planned to be imported from India under a USD15.03 million line of credit extended by the Government of India. These buses will have a sitting capacity of 32–54 passengers.

 

Currently, the Sri Lanka Transport Board has a fleet of 6,000 buses.
