Transdev secures operating contracts for suburban rail network and bus services in Stockholm, Sweden [free access]

Transdev Sverige AB has secured contracts from Trafiknämnden/Traffic Commission in the Stockholm region on behalf of Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) to operate the Roslagsbanan suburban rail network and two bus services in Norrort and Norrtälje. The SEK4 billion contract to operate the Roslagsbanan network in Stockholm for 12 years commences from April 2021. The network has an estimated ridership of 15 million trips per year.

 

The SEK5.7 billion contract to operate Norrort’s bus services in Täby, Vaxholm, Österåker, Danderyd, and Vallentuna for nine years commences from April 2021. These services have a combined estimated ridership of 23 million trips per year. Three lines and one area in western Vallentuna will receive call-controlled bus traffic as part of the new contract.

 

The SEK3 billion contract to operate bus services in Norrtälje, and to operate shuttle buses to and from Stockholm, for nine years commences from June 2021. These services have a total estimated ridership of 23 million trips per year in the area. Two lines, the north-west Rimbo area, and the west Norrtälje area will receive call-controlled bus traffic as part of the new contract.
