NEC India partners with UMTC to develop mobility solutions in India [free access]

NEC Technologies India (NEC India), a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based NEC Corporation, has entered into an agreement with Urban Mass Transit Company (UMTC) to jointly develop and deliver intelligent mobility solutions in India. UMTC is a joint venture of the Government of India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the state government of Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), and Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Limited (IL&FS).

 

Under this agreement, the companies will work on transport integration projects and on the provision of end-to-end solutions, including planning and development services, procurement of fleet, funding assistance, and implementation of intelligent transportation management systems (ITMS) for state road transport corporations and public transport operators. In addition, NEC will provide solutions, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and Data as a Service (DaaS).
