The Guadalajara light rail system comprises two lines which collectively span 24.1 km and cover 29 stations. Passenger services on Line 1 and Line 2 commenced in 1989 and 1994, respectively. The system is operated by Sistema de Tren Eléctrico Urbano (SITEUR).
During 1997–2018, annual passenger ridership and vehicle kilometres grew at an average annual growth rate (AAGR) of 3.88 per cent and 1.12 per cent, respectively. During the same period, the fleet size in operation remained fairly consistent (with the exception of 2016).
