July 1, 2019

The state government of Rajasthan has approved the detailed project report (DPR) of Delhi–Gurugram–Alwar regional rapid transit system (RRTS) Phase 1. The DPR of this phase has already been approved by the state government of Haryana.

Phase 1 will connect Delhi, Gurugram in Haryana, and the Shahjahanpur–Neemrana–Behror Urban Complex in Rajasthan. It will span 106 km (71 km elevated and 35 km underground) and cover 16 stations (11 elevated stations and five underground stations). It will also offer interchange facilities for the stations of Delhi Metro and will reduce the travel time to 70 minutes. The project is expected to be completed within five years. It will be financed by the Government of India, the state governments of Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan, and multilateral agencies. Pre-construction works are under progress.
