Government of Gujarat allocates funds for public transport in Budget FY2020–21, India [free access]

The state government of Gujarat, in its budget for FY2020–21, has allocated INR6.46 billion for the expansion of public transport. Of this, INR2.40 billion has been allocated for the deployment of 895 buses equipped with Bharat Stage-VI (BS-VI) emission standard engines.

 

The remaining INR4.06 billion has been allocated for the execution of the Surat and Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar Metro projects. Surat Metro will comprise two corridors which will collectively span 40.35 km and cover 38 stations. The project will be executed within a period of five years at an estimated investment of INR120.20 billion. Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar Metro will comprise three corridors which will collectively span over 60 km and cover over 50 stations.
