TTC approves Fleet Procurement Strategy and Plan, Canada [free access]

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Board has approved a CAD550 million (USD418 million) investment in new vehicles and transit system upgrades. The investment has been made by  Toronto’s City Building Fund.

 

As part of the Fleet Procurement Strategy and Plan, TTC has approved the purchase of 600 new buses (300 hybrid buses starting operations in 2022 and 300 new e-buses starting operations in 2023). TTC has also approved the purchase of 70 new Wheel-Trans buses (starting operations in 2022) and 13 streetcars (starting operations in 2023), with a commitment to purchase 47 additional streetcars, contingent on government support.
