Singapore LTA awards two contracts for Jurong Region Line [free access]

Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded two contracts for the construction of Jurong Region Line. Each contract has been valued at SGD263 million.

 

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (Singapore Branch) (CCECC)–SCB Building Construction Pte Limited Joint Venture has secured a contract to design and construct a 1.1-km-long elevated section and two stations. The works will be executed in the Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) industrial area. Singapore-based Hwa Seng Builder Pte Ltd (HSB) has secured a contract to design and construct a 1.4-km-long elevated section and two stations. Works under both the contracts are scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2021 and are expected to be completed by 2029.

 

Singapore MRT Jurong Region Line will be the seventh line of the MRT network. It will span 24 km and cover 24 stations. A fleet of 62 driverless trains is planned to be deployed on the line. The line is expected to be fully operational by 2029.
