REM station receives USD398.5 million in federal and provincial financing, Canada [free access]

The government of Canada and the province of Quebec have announced plans to provide a total of USD398.5 million to construct the planned Réseau express métropolitain (REM) station at the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.


The total cost of the station is estimated to be USD478.19 million. Transport Canada will contribute an additional USD79.7 million to cover the cost of the station. Construction is expected to be completed in 2024.


The planned automated REM light-rail system will span 67 km and serve 26 stations.
