Bids invited to conduct preliminary study for Santiago Metro Line 9 and Line 6 extension, Chile [free access]

Empresa de Transporte de Pasajeros (Metro SA) has announced plans to invite two bids to conduct preliminary studies for the planned Line 9 and for the expansion of the existing Line 6 of Santiago Metro.

 

The scope of work for Line 9 includes conducting basic engineering studies for the civil works. The bidding documents will be available from November 19, 2021 to November 26, 2021.

 

The scope of work for Line 6 includes conducting detailed engineering studies for the tunnels, stations, and excavation sites of the line. The bidding documents will be available from November 24, 2021 to December 1, 2021.

 

Line 9 will span 17 km along the districts of San Miguel, San Joaquín, La Granja, San Ramón, and La Pintana and cover 12 stations. The estimated cost of the development of Line 9 is USD1.7 billion.

 

Line 6 extension will be extended 2.5 km to connect the line to the Lo Errázuriz station of the Santiago–Melipilla service. The estimated cost of the extension is USD197 million.
